It was a very cosy place, with all the comforts! The cleanliness was impeccable, something I was worried about since I had my little daughter with me. The kitchen had everything we needed. An environment ideal for quiet family holidays. We really enjoyed Xenia’s hospitality during our stay.

Acrocorinth
Distance: 24km
The highest and safest Acropolis that rises to 575m and is surrounded by fortifications with a total perimeter of 2,000m. It is crowned by the remains of the famous sanctuary of Aphrodite, while churches, mosques, houses, springs, reservoirs and fountains testify to the long-standing human presence (from the 7th century BC to the 19th century AD) as well as the human mosaic that was lucky enough to live on the mountain state.
Heraion - Perachora - Loutraki
Distance: 20km
The area of Heraion and Lake Vouliagmeni is a particularly beautiful landscape. There, where rests the sunken ancient state of Aigiros, which was opposite Corinth and that is why the Corinthians called it Pera-Hora. The picturesque harbor is flanked by the ruined sanctuaries of Hera Akraia and Hera Limenia. Septic places where the Greeks worshiped, at least, from the 8th c. e.g. until the end of antiquity.
At a short distance from these crowded sanctuaries of antiquity and near the Corinth canal, the well-known spa town of Loutraki dominates. The hot springs and the now-famous casino turned the area into a cosmopolitan resort of pretensions.
Isthmus - Corinth Canal
Distance: 21km
The Corinth Canal connects the Corinthian with the Saronic Gulf. It has been built on the Isthmus of Corinth, a little further east of the city. The idea of the canal had started in antiquity, in fact Nero had undertaken the project with plans by Julius Caesar and Caligula. With the death of Nero, Herod Atticus took over the work but later abandoned it.
Finally, works started in 1880 under Charilaos Trikoupis’ premiership and due to lack of resources, the project was completed by the company of Andreas Sygrou in 1893. The canal is 6,346m long, 24.6m wide at sea level, 21.3m at the bottom, while its depth ranges from 7.50 to 8m. The Corinth canal has helped trade a lot and nowadays you can go bungee jumping from the bridge.
BEACHES
Corinthian beaches worth discovering
Kiato Beach
You can of course be satisfied with the beach that is offered just a few minutes from our place, the beach of Kiato.
Awarded with a blue flag. Much of our beach is organized, with many beach bars and fish taverns. However, due to the long coastline it occupies, one can also find quieter spots to enjoy swimming.
Beach of Pefkia - Xylokastro Corinthia
The place is suitable for those looking for relaxation enjoying their bath, along with rest and good food. It is surrounded by the verdant forest of Pefkias, and this is what makes it so unique. The forest is located between Xylokastro and Sykia and is a ‘green lung’ for the area.
It stretches along the shores of the Gulf of Corinth and has been designated an aesthetic forest. It is referred to by Kostas Karyotakis as the “green shore of the homeland”, while it was a source of inspiration for Angelos Sikelianos.
Mylokopi Beach - Loutraki Corinthias
The beach is located in an amazing pine landscape that combines mountain and sea. It is a ‘double’ beach, apparently the result of some ancient earthquake.
One side consists of a dark clean sandy beach while on the other there are impressive fault plates, broken by the obvious strong seismicity of the area.
The waters are crystal clear with a clear emerald color that is disarming.
